Aim: This study is conducted to determine the learning needs of the patients staying at internal diseases clinic of a university hospital.

Method: The research is conducted among the 173 patients, who will be discharged, in the internal diseases clinics Atatürk University Medical Faculty Hospital between January-March 2009. Personal Information Form and Patient Learning Needs Scale (PLNS) are used for data collecting.

Results: PLNS point average of the patients who has participated in research is 204.26±23.85 and the highest importance level is of drugs and life quality sub-dimensions with 4.12.

Conclusion: As a result of the research it is founded that learning needs level of the patients is high.
