Historically sexuality has been cloaked in mystery and taboo. This part of our lives has been ruled primarily by religion, morality and law. Sexuality is a highly complex, multidimensional phenomenon in the integration of biological, psychological, social, interpersonal and cultural aspects of our being. Exploring issues in relation to sexuality is important in health care where professionals, such as nurses, often work with clients in direct, close and personel way. Nurses should have education and counseling about this subject. Meeting the sexual needs of individuals is part of the nurses' roles, then nurses must develop ways of meeting those needs.
