Music/ musical therapy is a popular method used in healthcare in developed countries. Today, musical therapy is utilized as a method for reducing stress, accelerating growth, facilitating passage to feeding, reducing pain, facilitating falling asleep, providing positive change in oxygen saturation level and peak heart rate values, as well as reducing period of hospitalization in individualized developmental care of the neo-natals in neo-natal intensive care units. Neo-natal nurses should be well-informed about the individualized developmental care and their roles, act through a multidisciplinary team communication and be able to use music in individualized developmental care practices. This article addresses the use of music in neo-natal intensive care units, and its importance in terms of the nurses.
