Preconception care, maternal, child and family health protection and development has an important place. In general, parents conceive after candidates receive health care are more likely. However, before becoming pregnant couples to become parents, psychological, social, physiological and economic aspects need to be ready. Mother and baby’s health will negatively affect the elimination of the factors to be taken under control; or pregnancy, birth and the end of the birth mother and the infant mortality due to recent problems and it reduces health problems connected to it. Pregnancy in the period before, life style, nutrition, chronic disease control and drug use in relation to the employees health advice and medical initiatives in this period the mother’s pregnancy, birth and birth process of fi nal review in seamlessly with useful period. However, mother, infant deaths and illnesses will be reduced. In this study, the defi nition of preconception care, importance and the role of midwives are discussed
