Aim: The purpose of this study was to examine the primary infertile couples with dyadic adjustment.
Method: The type of this study was planned as descriptive. The study population consisted of Ege University Family Planning Infertility Research and Application Center Presidency women presenting with primary infertility. In the study, the sample group admitted to the center from 22 January to 30 March 2007 and agreed to participate in the study consisted of 134 women with primary infertility. Women’s individual publicity generated by the researchers was prepared in accordance with the form of literature and the Dyadic Adjustment Scale was applied using face-to-face interview technique.
Results: 44.8% of women in the study ‘s of the 30-34 age group, 32.1%’ s of 5-9 years were married, 70.1% ‘s of children 1-4 years and 82.1% wanted’ s of 1-4 years were receiving treatment. In this study Dyadic Adjustment Scale mean score of women a score with 101 points and below is 93.73±6.92, Dyadic Adjustment Scale mean score of women with score 101 points above is 121.70±9.94. In this study, employment status, income status, place of residence and year of marriage has been found statistically significant differences between the groups (p <0.05).
Conclusion: It can be said that women who living in the city, working, well income status and over years of marriage is more dyadic adjustment.
