Goal of the continuing professional development in nursing is to promote quality nursing care by providing educational programs. The theoretical, philosophical and structural bases of nursing professional development must be determined and all education activities must be based on them. In this article the theoretical, philosophical and structural bases of continuing professional development will be discussed.
